I have a M2 on it's way to me but the only lens that I will initially have is my 50mm Summitar LTM. Can someone reccomend a source for a LTM to M adapter. I see a lot of generic adapters on Ebay but I want to make sure the one I buy will work properly. Thanks, John

They all work properly. It's just a little piece of metal. A monkey machinist could get the tolerances right.

The odds of getting one that's so grossly out of spec to blur your photos is astronomical.

I've got a dozen cheapo Chinese adapters and a dozen Leitz adapters and all are perfect.

If spending more money makes you feel better, go straight ahead.

I have two Japanese made adapters bought from www.fedka.com. Cost only a hair less than the CQ ones, but shaped exactly like my Leitz adapter -- will accept the infinity lock.

True most of the time, but I have one - bought cheap from NEW YORK CITY - that won't even mount on an M8.

They work the same, but the vintage Leitz adapters are a bit better constructed than even the CV ones -- heavier brass under the chrome, fewer sharp edges to the machined surfaces. If you have time and patience they don't have to be so expensive either -- I've gotten them for as little as US $22.

if the 50mm has an infinity lock make sure the adapter can handle that. I bought a Chinese adapter from a before suggested vendor and it doesn't accept it - it hits the flange. Not all CV adapter accept it either.

Hi,

I've used my 1946 Summitar (with infinity lock) on the M2 with a Voigtländer adapter: no problems with it.

Yes with the version 1 adapter it works fine according to Steve, but the version II has a bigger flange. I believe he is sold out on the 50mm version 1 (I wanted one too :) )
