lens cap for 12585 shade

Don' tkno wif you guys know this, but 52mm lens caps (common Nikon size) clip into the Leica 12585 lens shades used for 35 and 50mm Sumicrons and the 2.8 Summaron. Cloth shutter curtains are sometimes (alright, not very often) burned by uncapped lenses.

Thanks for the tip! I never thought of trying that. If you buy generic push button lens caps you won't have to adverise Nikon.

You could always put some black tape over it. 😉
