I just scored a Rollei 35 with 40/3.5 Tessar lens. It came with the original uv filter. I plan to use it as my carry around camera so I want something easy to put on and cheap as cap.

Anyone know where I can find one?

If I recall correctly the white plastic cap from a Fuji 35mm film canister will do the trick. Economically too.

Best thing to do just leave the filter on and put the camera in a small stretchy case. You need to do the case anyway so you don't run the battery down all the time. There's no off switch, putting the camera in a case effectively turns the meter off.

I was in your situation about a year ago, and managed to find a generic, screw-on lenscap for the Tessar 40/3.5. I've forgotten who I bought it from, but it could have been Heavystar (could also have been an ebay purchase).

I got one from Harry Fleenor when my Rollei 35 was in for repair. I second Godfrey's advice, you don't need one with a filter on. Personally, I don't use a filter as the front element is pretty recessed. That being said, I usually don't put a battery in it either.
