I lost the original hinged metal lens cap. Replaced it with a cheap plastic version witch sucks.
Does the 3.5F TLR metal lens cap fit the Yashica?
I read somewhere that there are two different sizes lens-cap for the Rolleiflex camera's. Would like to know witch one to choose / avoid in order to make it fit my Yashica 124G.

Hi,
The cap for the Rolleiflex 3.5F is too big for a Yashicamat. You want a Bay 1 cap, which fits the Rolleis that came with a f3.5 Tessar or Xenar. The 3.5F used a Bay 2 size lenscap. There were actually three different sizes for the regular Rolleiflexes, and I believe that the Tele and Wide models had their own caps as well.

Didn't think the 124G came with a hinged cap at all -- it comes with a push-on plastic cap, which works quite well. A Bay I Rollei cap should fit it, if you want to pimp the 124G up a little.

FWIW: Bought a cheap plastic cap on eBay. It sucks: doesn't fit well enough to stay on. A good push-on plastic cap would be fine.

Thanks, I found an original Yashica lenscap way cheaper than the one with a Rollei tag ;-)

That's good. I have a Bay I Rolleiflex hinged lens cap on a Yashica 124G and the cap does not snap shut properly on the taking lens. It will stay in place most of the time, but not securely, so I have to be careful.
Did you find a source for more of the caps? Or just the one?

That might be the reason why I lost mine :bang:

I believe I got a good cap from KEH at a reasonable price.
