Hi i am about to try using infrared film in my bessa t after having used it in a canon a1 my question is can i expect any fogging if i change lenses. Using a changing bag would not be an option. Thanks

I don't see a fundamental difference in how the shutter curtains block light during changing lenses, and while there a lens mounted with no lens cap on (especially a fast lens wide open). Of course, the amount of light isn't exactly the same, but nothing is essentially different.

As long as you don't point the curtains towards the sun (or any source of intense IR), there shouldn't be a big problem. Besides, the Bessa-T has a dual shutter set up designed to prevent light hitting the film, something that in an SLR the mirror takes care of.

Hi there,
Luckily Bessa's have metal shutter curtains, so I wouldnt think there would be any problem, just take regular precautions, a shaded area would be best, however depending on which Infrared film you are using, particularly Kodak HIE, which is very sensitive, you may get fogging anyway. I would just suggest shooting the each scene at least twice to allow for fogging, and I wouldn't constantly change lenses, as this seriously increases the risk of fogging.
As I expect you already know, a regular red 25a filter will give you the most dramatic infrared effect.
Good Luck
