Im looking at a macro 50mm summicron that is described by the seller as "lens clouding", wondering if a CLA can fully clean that. Its my impression that lens clouding is pretty difficult to deal with, just wanted to get some feedback from any of you guys that maybe have had lenses cleaned, etc. Whats a fair price for the macro lens with the goggles? thanks!

If DAG were to CLA a DR or rigid Summicron it would cost around $100-125. If you get one cheap it is really worth it. He transformed my rigid (it had haze) into a new lens. 🙂

Stay away from cloudy 50/2 M Summicrons, the dual range ones are notorious and their soft coating is nearly impossible to clean in their advanced age. There are many with the coating half gone, this is not clearly visible for the inexperienced. The optical results are not quite the high performance of a healthy Summicron. A magnifying glass and a small flashlight can uncover many defects on potential purchases.
