Lens combining

I was wondering how people feel about mixing lenses from different manufactures and different generations.
As an enthusiast and non professional would it make life easier to have a series of lenses that have similar characteristics?
Would having say all asp Leica lenses make it easier to transition from one lens to another.
After reading reviews of various lenses Zeiss VS Leica asp (Sean Read) for example. He sates that all the Zeiss lenses have certain characteristics. Say if you have a set of 3 Zeiss will it make exposure easier as they would all need the same sort of under or over exposure in the same type of lighting conditions.
Will post processing become easier as you will be able to use more similar settings then if you mixed set of lenses?

I do hope this makes some sense.

In theory, sticking to particular line of modern lenses ensures repeatable rendition of color. In practice, it gets drowned in film emulsion variations between batches and changes in fine nuances of lighting.

IMHO more important issue is ergonomics: if all your lenses have similar focusing throw, location/order of control rings, direction of focus and aperture change, finish, etc., it makes them more intuitive to operate. Esp. if you switch lenses often.
