Lens compatibility question

I have the Panasonic DMC-G1 and was wondering if the Olympus M4/3 lens will also work with it. I know they will mount since both use the same mount..

Yes they will work fine but...

... the Oly 17mm f/2.8 and M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 lens are unstable on the G-1 unless you update the G-1's firmware to at least v1.3 (v1.5 recommended). Check out:

I have used the Panasonic 17/2.8 on my G1 with no problems, but I have always get the firmware updated!
