Are there any repair men in the US could repair lens decementing and coating damage problem?

I jumped on 35mm summicron 1st version lens last week, and it arrived today. The lens looks bad with those problem. It looks like haze all over the elements, but Leica NJ said that is a lens decementing and coating damage. Leica NJ cannot repair or clean those problems.

Anyone could fix it? or should I return the lens?

I'll second the recommendation for John. Excellent craftsman and good turn around. Additionally don't over look Sherry Krauter. Years ago she was able to obtain original Leica glass elements for a 35 Summi that everyone thought was toast due to decementing and fungus. Lens came back better than new and it sees lots of use.

I just received my Mamiya Press 75mm lens back from Focal Point. John cleaned and recemented a three element rear group on the front cell.

Excellent work and very fast.

Could I ask you how much did you pay for the recement service?

Well, I got an answer from John yesterday. He said he could not repair this 35mm Summicron because the diameter of the elements are too small for his machine. :(
