can anyone tell me if when fitted to a 50 2.8 collapsable elmar, you can still change apertures? when i look at pictures of this hood i cant see that it's possible! thx

Yes you can but the hood does fit quite close to the aperture ring so it can get fiddly. I'm talking about the '57-74 version of the Elmar, I can't speak for the Elmar-M. The same goes for the "official" ITOOY hood.

On a current Elmar-M 2.8/50 it looks like this.

The hood makes changing aperures on the 50mm DR Summicron equally "fiddly." So much so that I think I shall buy a screw in hood from heavystar at ebay.

Makes a small lens big and is fiddely.
