I'm thinking of purchasing a chrome Canon 35mm/f2.8 lens. I understand this has a 36mm internal thread. Can anyone tell me about filters and lens hoods for this lens? What are my options? I know I can use a Leica Skoog clamp-on 36mm to 39mm threaded adapter ( I use this on my 9cm elmar in LTM). I've also located a source for 36mm to 37mm step up rings. Any other possibilities? Thanks. -Paul B.

the chrome canon has a 34mm filter thread size.
new 34mm uv filters are available now as it's a size that some digicams use.
i use a leitz lens hood made for the summaron-elmar 35mm lens, it's a clamp on hood that fits and works perfectly.

Thanks, Joe. I was misinformed about the thread size. I imagine I can find the lens hood at Ritz Camera, on e-bay, etc..

i was lucky to find the hood here, from a very generous member who no longer had a need for it.
if you need a 34mm uv filter, i happen to have 3 brand new hoyas that i'm not in need of.
ritz is good for this stuff and very friendly to deal with.
you might also ask here and at the leica forum on photo.net.
