Lens Hood for $165 ... This is Crazy

This afternoon I found that a certain Leica store in Washington state sells the 12536 hood for the Elmarit 28/f2.8 for $249... used.

I got a spare for $37 on not-so-evilBay... I guess I was lucky!

Of course, I should add it wasn't mint! 🙂

Yes, I know that store (also posts on eBay - they're on the Rim). I always presume that they sell their Nikon stuff back to Japanese collectors.

I guess there are a fair number of Leica collectors in Japan that they also cater too.

raid,
sell yours for the 400 and then you can by my canon 35 bl finder for 200 and we will both be happy...😉

Joe: I already have two other 35mm finders and that's why the Leitz finder is still like new in its original box. It must be 50 years old or so.

I'll hold you to that, Francisco 🙂. I'm just looking for a hood I can use on both my v4 35 'cron and my old Elmar and I don't want a screw-in hood, just one I can slip on so "heavystars" is out. Little ergonomic things like this can be really important to me. The built in hood on my 50 'cron drives me mad. I've seen a few IROOA's for about £50 but they've been pretty beaten up.

Deal, Mark!

It'll take me a while, but, as I said above, I'll keep searching.

I do like the 12585, but it's not "historically accurate" with my 'cron.

Isn't that a pathetic thing to know... 🙂
