Lens I'm looking at

One lens I haven't seen mentioned is the Jupiter-12 35mm f:2.8, which is one of the FSU stars. By all means get one; at the price it has fantastic performance. And be sure to get the KMZ turret finder.

I even got a 28mm f:6 ORION. Now, f:6 is nothing to brag about, but I use my 28mm lens on a Leica CL for outdoor architecture and landscapes and speed isn't a major concern. I got it for $75 on eBay and see no need for anything faster.

I have a J3 and J8, and I think the J3 is a better performer overall. I'd say that sharpness for both lenses is about the same, but the J3 has a little more contrast and, of course, is 1 stop faster. A lot depends on the individual sample you get, but I feel that both of mine are excellent. I haven't applied scientific rigor to these observations; just my impression after using both for a year or so.
