Lens mount query

Not having persued getting a tele for my Contax IIa, I've not bothered to put to memory what the mount is supposed to look like. However, on this Nikkor 135, something just doesn't look right.

Make sure the one you buy has a 'C' on the barrel as in this one:

If it has a 'C' on the barrel, it's Contax mount, if not, it's Nikon mount, both are the same mount but the focus pitch is different.

Nippon Kogaku also produced this lens in Exacta mount,screw mount, Nikon mount and Contax mount.

Thanks, Digitalintrigue, and NIKON KIU. I always thought that it was the red C on the face plate that designated it for a Contax camera, and thought the mount had been removed on this one. I'll have to look for the barrel mark from now on.

The red C stood for coated. Mounts are radically different so shouldn't require looking for the other "C"

What really threw me was I was expecting to see a Contax mount on the lens, and since it was listed as 'parts, I though someone had removed the bayonet, but couldn't make out from the photos if that was the case.

I have also seen the C on the focus cam, i will try to find the photo of it, there was no C on the focus ring, just on the cam,

No, the mounts are exactly the same (Nikon versus Contax). The 'C' on the barrel is necessary to distinguish them.

Crazy price for a parts condition 135, by the way. I have a better copy that came from KEH for $2.49. Yes, that's two dollars and 49 cents. I guess the hood drove up the price...
