After mounting the CV 15mm + LTM to M adapter, this is what I ended up with. Should the lens continue to rotate until orientation dot is on the top?

Using a Leitz adapter for 35/90 framelines. I didn't think that would make any difference. How would a different adapter change things?

My LTM adapter locked exactly like yours. My Jupiter lens threaded on past the centre alignment point. I do not believe the lenses will align perfectly up and down, because of the nature of threads. I am very new to this myself?

There will be no negative effect on the pictures. There was a thread a while ago about rotating the lens's mount so that It would line up vertically.

would a different adapter resolve this issue? If so, then I don't understand how adapters for the exact same lens mount could lead to variable rotations of the lens.

rotating the lens' mount? what does that mean?

Try to find that thread. It involves removing some screws at the back of the lens that orient (rotationally) the lens mount. I'm not suggesting that you should do this. There is no negative affect on the negatives.

...you might want to read these three threads as well as they will help explain what is happening and give you a better idea a to what approach you should take in order to fix this:

...and

...finally check this thread as it has some great photos of what you are experiencing, both before and after:

Hope that helps. Cheers!
