Lens prices

Has anyone else noticed that ebay prices for FSU accessory lenses (35mm, 85mm, etc.) seem to be relatively higher than a complete camera with a lens? Needless to say, nearly all of the cameras come with a 50mm, which surely makes them the most common. But there doesn't seem to be any scarcity of Jupiter lenses of various numbers for Zorkis, etc. Considering that any accessory lens would require some type of viewfinder in addition, it seems the prices are sort of above the call of duty.

I just bought a Jupiter-12 35mm that, with shipping etc., cost $80.00. Except for the Zorki-2 camera, I could buy several complete cameras for less than that amount.

I guess you could, but none of them are likely to come with a Jupiter-12 lens on the front.

Prices are all over the place. The J-12 is cheaper in COntax mount; I guess the popularity of the LTM version is at a high. One in Contax mount set me back $25, with shipping.

I also have three Kievs, but they and the Zorkis don't get along too well as far as lens mounts are concerned. Maybe one of these days I'll get that version for the Kievs. I'm still considering one of the 'universal' turret-type viewfinders. Of course, those are also slightly different for the different makes of cameras.
