Lens shade for Nikkor 35 1.8

A solution for this classic problem is easy when you have the older chrome shades of the Nikkors 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/2; neither of those is rare. You simply combine them: the base of the 85mm shade and the top of the 50mm shade and you'll have a perfect shade for the 35mm f/1.8. On the picture the top is black, but chrome will work as good.

I use 43mm NKT series vii and wide OEM hoods for my 43mm thread lenses. I use hoods not only for flare but also lens protection. Last year I dropped my S2 and the hood took the blunt and saved my 3.5cm f2.5. I like original accessories but cost and practicality are determining factors; therefore, the original 1.8 ltm hood is out of the question. With patience, searching and luck, original equipments can be had relatively cheap. Two years ago I purchased a mint black paint NKT 43mm series vii hood with case and box for $68
and recently a nice chrome NKT 2.8cm hood for $23. Before acquiring the 2.8cm hood, I used a $8 series vii adapter that resembles the NKT hood with a Tiffen 719 43f-series vii adapter ring.
