I'm wondering if -teen dollar lens spanner wrenches from China are forged or I will be able to bend tips slightly? I need wrench to use it inside...say, tube and straight tips would scratch/rub against walls.

I have seen some that have "offset" tips that might work? Maybe try Micro Tools.

The set I'm using was made in China, and I haven't had a problem with them, other than the set screws always come loose. There is too much play in the cross shafts.

microtools have some nice "made in Japan" wrenches. I'm just not planning to use them intensively, I have to fix one more camera - so I think.
PF - which screws yours has, with knurled heads or machined for lever?

Well, I filed tips of slick pliers and got ring moving. Now I can move inside shutter from aperture end.
Probably I will buy spanner wrench some day, though.

I'm depleting one box of tools into a camera drawer of tools with the help of bench grinders and files, like you I too will "some day" buy the proper wrench. Peter
