David, I'm glad to see that someone else besides myself can't resist taking airplane photos. I lost my "medical" about the time rental prices starting going up, so the photos have to serve as my flying "fix". Thanks for sharing the Leotax info.

Hi Jim. Thanks for the comments. I am 50 and have a few typical middle-aged maladies, and I still have my medical, but it's not easy to hold on to it -- so I sympathize with you. I have to keep up with medical tests, exams, and doctors letters etc. to keep it -- a real pain! It's a little easier now than it used to be to get a special authorization if you have a problem thanks in large part to the AOPA (our Savior in general aviation!).

I'm going flying tomorrow in a Cessna 182 retractable (RG182) -- doing Commercial-type airwork solo -- lots of fun. The only problem with flying VFR here in LA are the number of GD airplanes in the sky when you are trying to do manuevers -- mid airs are a real risk you think about.

I'll be taking a Praktina FX SLR to the airport with me tomorrow --needs a test of fire!

What sort of flying did you do when you were active?

Jim. I liked the DC-3 shot best in your gallery -- a very impressive shot of an impressive aircraft. Makes me want to get another Jupiter-12 -- fine lens.
