. I was stationed in Germany for 4 years. I lusted over every Leica I saw, unfortunatly an enlisted mans pay could not afford even a used one.

Welcome, ex Navy myself, broke my Ricoh RF on a flight deck but I was lucky enough to get a hot Leica IIIF in Naples for $40 and 2 packs of Salems.

Hi, all. I am a 53 year old retired Army Sergeant Major. I spent 30 years with the various field artillery groups. I retired in 2000 and moved back to Louisiana. I was in Viet Nam with the 52nd Artllery Group in "71 at Pleiku. I then spent time in Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. I bought my Canon gear while in Japan and the MF folder while in Germany. I am looking forward to learning more and sharing some photos.
I got out of photography after I retired and bought a small digital :bang: but it just did not have the feel or experince of my old cameras so a few years ago I sent all my cameras for a CLA and have been using them ever since.
This seems like a wArm and friendly place so I am glad I found it.
This is me on the right firing an 8" gun in '71 Pleiku

First I would like to thank you for your service, second welcome and third, if you find yourself on the left coast I will spot you to your favorite beverage and take you out and shoot a local landmark or two

I have been lurking and reading for awhile before I joined. I have been leery of these forums because most seem just a shouting and an elitest group to shows whos is bigger.

No arguement from me Cecil. I don't know anything about artillery (other than it takes what's over here and puts it over there) but based upon the picture, I'd have to say YOURS is bigger
