i had to mail off a payment for a couple of canon hoods i won on ebay.
while at the local postal station i asked if they would check to see if i had any parcels there.
sure enough, my 135/3.5 lens was sitting in the back, it had been there for a week!!
yet, no notice was left on my door or in the mail box!

as for the lens, it is not in good shape...it's friggin' new!
the glass looks like it had a filter on it from day one. the caps (plastic) are the original canon ones. the f stops click with a firm and audible click and the focus is sooo smooth! like butta!

this was one lens worth the wait.

merry ho ho to all!

Good to hear that it's such a nice lens. Couldn't be in better hands! Now if my 90/4 Elmar would just get here (no, it's not overdue. I'm just impatient 😀 )

"let's hear it for the canadian post office!"

No way! I was hoping the Leica IIIa with NIkkor lens that I traded a Canon 7 and FSU lens for would have arrived by today, but alas, it looks like a late Christmas for me!

Congrats, Joe!

Fruitfull

Hello:

I receive small packages with fine things for photography via the Canadian Post Office with no problems. They get 2 boxes of Ganog Fruitfulls each year for Christmas in appreciation.

Have a good holiday and good light all.

yours
Frank

Joe: Where else can you get free storage? FWIW, I've never had problems with Canada Post. Sometimes slow to deliver letters from Rochester to T.O. or Stratford, (I can drive either in 3-1/2 hours or so) but sometimes fast.

Merry Christmas, and shoot, shoot, shoot.... he shoots he scores!

oh i admit, i rarely have problems with canada post, it's mostly customs that holds things up.
but this is the second time i have not received a delivery notice and had to check if a parcel was sitting & waiting at the same time that i was sitting & waiting.
a tad frustrating.

but like i said, the lens looks and feels like new and all for 99 bucks american.

It is a much shorter trip for Santa to get to Edmonton. 😀

Good to hear, the Tower I sold made it north of the border in a little more than a week. I was happy to hear that.

Canada Post's been pretty good this joyous season. They just lost one of my letters which contained a M.O. 😀

Luckily it wasn't much. I have to wait another 2 months before I can trace/cancel the PO M.O. I should not had sent it via "ordinary mail". 🙁

It is those wonderful finds like your lens that makes GAS something I can live with. Hope it is the same with you. 🙂

Hoping to see some photos with it soon. I always like the 135mm focal length in SLRdom, and always wondered why I don't see more use of it by RFF users.
