Lets talk tequila

Usually in the past I always got gold Jose Cuervo but now I cant seem to find it in stores anymore. All I can find is gold and silver Olmeca, gold Pepe Lopez, and silver Camino.
I don't mean to be naughty, but can I make a comment, as one who grew in the land where you can buy good tequila for something other than the inebriating factor?

Blech blech blech!

Jose Cuervo, Camino, Olmeca (and to think that the Olmecs had nothing to do with the region where Tequila is grown and distilled...)

Get Herradura. Or if you really don't care much for straight Tequila (like I don't) but do like to taste the difference in Margaritas (or Tequila Sunrise), don't go lower than Don Julio.

If you really hate someone, buy them Sauza. Sauza is to tequila what Bacardi is to rum. ::shudder::

I'll second that. Herradura is a great tequila; Jose Cuervo is not.

Jose Cuervo, while great at marketing, is not known for the quality of the tequila they produce. And don't be fooled by Cuervo Black; it's not even tequila.

But if you ever find yourself in Tequila, Jalisco, make sure to visit the Cuervo distillery and take the tour of the facilities. Pretty interesting.

Miguel: You are absolutely right. About Herradura, and about the tour of the Cuervo distillery. I spent a few days in Tequila, years ago, wandering around. Well worth the wander.
