I have an old Yashicamat that needs a service to it's transport.
It's an early model with the Lumuxar 80mm f3.5 (round aperture.... sharp and beautiful rendering!)
I've had the camera for years and have put many, many rolls through.
The last roll the advance started to become rough and cranky.... frame spacing was poor upon development.
I have a number of TLR's but this one has some special memories tied into it.

For repairs Mark Hama might be the usual suspect if the reviews were a bit more consistent (some good some awful).

Lezot Camera service has a $105 flat fee to service Yashicamat TLR... parts extra if required.

Has anyone here tried Lezot ?
Any other recommendations?

Thanks as always

Lezot did an OK CLA for me on a Canon LTM rangefinder a few years ago. I'd use them again but I've since found a competent shop 30 minutes from me who also does good work.

From what I've seen, if it's a Yashicamat he is excellent.
If it's another camera, good luck. (I was in the other camera group..)

It's a tough call with this camera because it's dear to me.
I know Mr Hama has it in him to do a masterful job with a Yashicamat but, I need to be able to communicate with him and he has failed me and other there in the past.

Cameraworks, Latham NY. Ask to speak to Al.

Will Al work on Yashicamats ?
Mark Hansen and others won't touch em as the parts in the later ones are poorly concieved.
This one is an early one. Actually labeled Yashima camera company on the side plate and Yashica on the front ( with a Lumuxar lens).
It's heavier than the much later Yashicamat 124 (not G) I have here.
Has a 10 blade aperture and a beautiful bright focus screen.
You can actually feel the higher quality materials.

Al will work on anything if you catch him in the right mood. You do however have to list everything you want done on the camera. If it isn’t listed, don’t count on it being done. He’s been in business for 40 plus years at this point. Extra points if you send him some music or kit from blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa haha. He loves the guy’s music.

I took that the last time I was in the shop. I’m lucky to consider him a friend.
