I happened to be out making some shots a on a few occasions just before the Black Death mark 2 hit.

I thought that , what 6 weeks or so in, it might be nostalgic to look back on normal life when social distancing was NOT a thing - just before we all became suddenly terrified that someone might breathe on us and we would all die in our beds - or drop dead before we could reach our beds. (Though I thought we already had social distancing - except back then it was called social media. I now like to think of it as social distancing with the benefit of toilet paper.)

I am soooooooo tired of taking pictures of streets devoid of people and of course those supermarket aisles empty of toilet paper. I want my world back.

I hear you, Peter. This was taken in summer 2020 (late Feb) on Manly beach just before everything went down...

This thread needs a theme tune; I thought of one that would be ideal and then I remembered it was called "The Long Road" in the original version; or «Дорогой длинною» in the original.

Most of you will know the Mary Hopkin's version as " Those were the days (my friends)"...

Just put this in for Ko's benefit.

Sad person: "Those were the days..."
Optimistic person: "It will be like this again one day."

I choose to be optimistic.

Hmmm, well I shall never be 21 again and so I prefer realism; OTOH, the virus may just have that side effect...

Regards, David

This too, shall pass.

But it is an interesting period to live in until it passes. I hope everyone can remain safe. Eventually everyone will either have had it, or have antibodies from a vaccine or injection of them. Then it will be back to normal. We were blessed that it was not very fatal, and now the world is better prepared if another one crops up that is.

"not very fatal" ? Is that like 'a little bit pregnant'? today's totals in the USA 65,000 + deaths !
