life without tv or the internet?

Had TV the first time

Had TV the first time

Had tv for many years. Family stuff as a kid. When I got married,
I got so addicted that I didn't really have meaningful conversations
With her. We got rid of it. Went through withdrawl. Meanwhile,
Living on the Monterey penninsula, started getting out. Can you believe it. For those that don't know it's one of the most scenic places in the world. That's how addicting it is.
Fast forward. Now, use the internet no cable. No broadcast tv. Just watch old movies, classics, comedy, history and God stuff. Get out as much as possible with wife & dogs.

I have cable tv.

I record what I want to watch and zip past the commercials if it is from a commercial broadcast station.

When on vacation or taking workshops I rarely will touch TV or the internet.

I do not care much for smart phones but did purchase two this past January, the wife wanted one not so much for personal use but to be able to use at work to access applications on the internet.

I watch my son-in-law who has a smart phone attached to his hand at all times. Through evolution it may become a permanant attatchment. He can not have a conversation without glancing down at the phone.

Riding public transportation is a real treat when you see a persons face, the majority of people have there face down staring at a small screen with their earbuds plugged in.

I think I will go out for a walk.....

We have not had TV for almost 20 years. What we watch is movies we rent commercially or borrow from our library.

When we travel and stay in hotels with TV I will occasionally turn the thing on just to see if I'm missing anything. I'm not.

I waste time on the internet or read books.

No TV? No problem, can't remember the last time I turned it on except to watch a DVD.

No Internet? That would be really bad - I make a living doing IT support in my local community - lots of it is done remotely using Teamviewer; saves a lot of gas and time. And no RFF? Come on...:D
