I've got an old Sekonic L-288 Zoom - meter. Recently the framing mask inside the eyepiece shifted and now is on an angle which blocks my view of the meter read out.

The Sekonic website : www.sekonic.com has no repair section listed. I would try and do this but .. I can't even figure out how to take the meter apart.

Suggestions for a pro repair would be appreciated.

Mamiya America Corporation is the importer for Sekonic in the USA. The sekonic.com site is part of M.A.C. and does have a service info page: http://www.sekonic.com/support/support_23.asp It won't likely be cheap though, MAC isn't known for thier low prices for service. I'm a longtime Mamiya 645 owner and can say that with experience. Call them to ask though, your problem is very minor and might not cost much.

thanks Chris, dunno how I missed that...

digitalintrigue.. I'll do a search. Thanks

~ update, found the shop, no internet/email but phone and a lot of happy clients... thx again

Quality Light Metric repaired my Luna Pro F meter two years ago. The turn around was fast and the work excellent.

Well, I've never seen that particular model and, in hopes of finding some photos that would give me a clue on how to get into it, I looked all over for info on the L-288 and can't find any. Did you mean the L-228, by any chance? No offence, but if it's the L-228 and you have not figured out that the one screw at the top and the one holding the speed dial in place are what are holding the casing together, you'd best consult a repairman.

@fallis photo: It's a typo on my part the model is L-228 not L-288

http://www.jollinger.com/photo/meters/meters/sekonic_l228.html

It's somewhat similar to the one shown however the 'screws' are different and the phillips screw where the dial is located is not present on my model. It's a two pin screw cap which I have no tools for. I checked for a wrench at micro-tools.com and it was any where from 35$ + 23$ postage to 75$ + 23$ postage.

Faster and cheaper to send it to an expert. Anyway it's on it's way to Quality Light Metric. Thanks for looking on my behalf.

update .. fwiw.. as recommended George Milton did the repairs. Wonderful service, wonderful man. Additionally his invoice was less than the 'estimate' fee I was proposed just to look at the meter from two other sources.

Add my name to the list of those who can highly recommend George
