Also ... I have a Minolta IIIF and find it dead accurate for both flash and ambient incident readings.
BUT ... for what Keith was discussing in the OP, it is not the meter for his application. While I do not have nor have I used the spotmeter attachment, it is NOT a substitute for a proper 1deg spotmeter. Plus, having an analog dial with EV and/or Zone markings is extremely helpful for the type of shooting Keith described.
For those who have not used such a meter, don't say "you don't need it", etc., at least until you try it. Don't make me get up on my soap box and turn this thread right around!
