In the last 2 years I have purchased a Niknon D700 and D3 and three Nikon film cameras, F2, Nikormat, and FE2 because they use the same lenses.

Naturally the seals were gummy from age but cameras otherwise looked new. I really like the pro build of the F2 and Nikkormat FTn. They were $200 and $65 repectively. What a steal for a fully functional camera of this quality.

I read somewhere that black yarn could be used in place of the foam. I tried and attached are images from the test roll. I really rolled each camera around so it faced the sun from every angle. No leaks. I used a sheet of black felt for the hinge ends of the back and mirror damper.

No really great pics, but they serve to illustrate Delta 100, D76 1:1 for 9 minutes. 50 2.0 Nikkor H, 105 2.5 P, and 35 2.0, all older single coated lenses in nearly perfect condition. One really does not want to waste time and effort in a possible defective camera.

I can not seem to get files down to 196 KB to post. I will try later

The issue is everyones foam deteriorates. Yarn and felt are semi permanent.

Actually one of the cameras I already refoamed, then ripped it out in favor of yarn.

Anyway partially still using some film was partly my point.
