A bigger photo would help.
I would guess light on print, dark on picture on the narrow edge is shutter bounce.
On the long side, light shields.
Light leaks
Halos around dark objects can be sharpening problems from scan or insufficient agitation in developing.

I was thinking light leaks but that would make it darker not lighter surely?

Hi Stuart
Light leaks will appear as lighter patches on the print as the light has leaked into the camera causing excessive exposure.
As you are shooting into the light it could easily be caused by an internal reflection from a shiny bit inside the camera It could also be a development problem as Ronald said as there is some haloing on the wheel Do you process the film yourself ?
Incidently in RFF terms we are next door neighbours, I'm 5 miles away in Berkhamsted

light leak on neg film - film gets darker - print gets lighter...
leaks can occur in the cassette, in the camera, or in processing. Look carefully at the dark patterns on the negs to determine when they occur.

Cheers for the advice chaps and Chris, good to know I'm not the only rangefinder fan in this neck of the woods. Given the nature of the site I was expecting you to be in Texas or Finland but not Berko!

That's right Jon, I had one of my Konica Auto S2s with me that day in the pub, with my sister and her family, quite a regular haunt of mine although the garden has been badly flooded recently.

As an aside Stuart, I have a 4K If you want to borrow it.
I think I went through it's CLA with you when we met .
sort of sending a Beetle to a Porsche guy

I don't use this site much now I know there are other rangefinder users from my area I will come on more often.

Thanks Jonathan but I also have a 4K as well as my 4 (see my newly instate avatar). I like the 4k as well but it doesn't feel quite as well made as the 4. I seem to remember you had a lovely Canon 7 in the pub, is that right?

P's. I've never quite taken to the 7's.
I quite like the idea of one for my jupiter 85mm, but held one and found it tinny compared to the P.
Sounding like a geek now

After much research online and given my (uncoated?) lens is from 1958 and it mainly happens when pointed near the sun I think it's lens flare and not light leaks. Jupiter lenses do have a reputation for being super sharp but flare prone.
