Negativistic forever
Several members of RFF were in favor of organizing a RFF meeting in Lisbon or at an easy to reach location. Here is my proposal:
Informal meeting, morning+lunch+afternoon (part), each one pays his/hers own expenses.
Date: Saturday October 4th
Location: several possibilities:
1) Lisbon: Downtown, Alfama, Parque das Nações, other places…
2) Out of Lisbon:
Tomar (downtown, Christ Monastery, Castle)
Golegã (driving along the Tagus, “Sopa da Pedra” for lunch in Almeirim, and visit the Carlos Relvas 19th century Photo Studio http://carlosrelvas.notlong.com )
Other options…
I would like to hear opinions and suggestions. Other places must be considered, and alternative dates also.
Some additional (personal) opinions: a) Non-RFF members may join if accompanying a RFF member (considering them as potential future RFF members!); b) SLR use will be tolerated. c) Despite being a local initiative, ALL RFF members are welcome, of course. d) If a location outside of Lisbon is choosed, sharing of places in cars will be considered.
I will take note of what you have to say, and a final proposal will be issued in late August. Please inform other members that may be interested.

I'd like to join this meeting, and I'm in favour of an out of town, ie Lisbon, location. The suggestions above seem all good. Either it be Tomar or Golegã. Tomar was the home of the Templar Order in Portugal back in the 13th and 14th century, but the Carlos Relvas museum could be an interesting visit too.

I wish that I could go. I've been going to Portugal every summer for the last three years but this year I must stay in Canada. We recently built a new house and I would like to finish the basement and landscaping. My father's health is also not very good and I wouldn't want to leave my parents alone in Canada at this time.

I will not be able to attend the meeting at Lisbon
However, I will be visiting Porto from 14-18 October, so if someone wants to share a beer or coffee, just drop me a line.
