Any negative works for lith - thin, dense, flat, you name it.
Old FB paper can be okay, you just have to jump in and try it out. The Ilfobrom being a bromide paper will likely be slow (could be up to 45 minutes of agitation) and possibly grainy.
One way to speed up the process is to keep the solution warm (40 degrees celsius) and keeping a water bath under the developing tray.
New papers - I guess Fomatone still works.
