Lithium Bats Okay for Konica FS-1/FT-1 ?

I own a Konica 57mm f/1.2 Hexanon AR I used with my Fuji X-E2.
I now only own a Fuji X100T, so the Hexanon sits unused.

I bought a Konica FS-1 (3rd version with updated electronics), and know that Konica says not to use Ni-cad bats because the they can damage the circuit board
(even with upgraded versions and the later made FT-1). But only use Alkaline bats.

So, my question... Can the longer lasting Lithiums be used like Alkaline Bats?

The manual specifically says to use alkaline batteries.

Recently I mentioned to Greg Weber, the expert Konica repair guy (webercamera.com), that I had just found an FS-1 in near mint condition and he advised further to check the voltage of the AA alkaline batteries to make sure they are no higher than about 1.65 volts. He said at least in the past some drugstore brand AA alkaline batteries were as high as 1.8-1.9 volts and this could damage the camera.

I guess I have to get a voltmeter to check the new Duracells I just bought....
Really, Alkalines can start as high as 1.8v....

But, are Lithiums more like rechargeables that start at a high voltage than a alkaline would start at?

Got an answer from a Konica Repair guy....
As long as the Lithiums start at or are below a total of 6.75v for the 4 AA batteries, they should be fine...

BUT.. Alkalines that are not "CHEAP" brands should be used.
Cheap Alkalines can be higher than 1.65v per AA battery....4 x 1.65 = 6.6v...JUST under the max voltage of 6.65v

The FT-1 fixed this issue.

What about eneloops? Can the camera handle the lower voltage of NiMH?
