And this is the way I use it now. Wallet, Cellphone, iPod in one pocket, random stuff like film, hoods, .. in the other. One M in the the separation on the right, usually with a scarf to lift the camera in height. Otherwise the camera is at the very bottom, which I find annoying. In the tiny slot next to it I put a long lens, also with a cloth at the bottom. Next to it you could fit a bunch of books, I usually carry a notebook and book loosely. The laptop I don't carry this way, just, again, to illustrate you could. The colors are off, I forgot to use the UV-filter. Ah well, imagine the green to be green.
Verdict now - I still like the bag. I would buy it again (in black), if the pound would be as weak as it used to be at some point. But I'm not crazy about it either, I'm sure as a camera bag there are better alternatives, and for bags in general there are better looking ones. But for a good looking camera bag, imo, the Billinghams are where it's at.
