Hi,
I decided to try Vuescan after several years with Silverscan.
But I already hav a problem:
vuescan always scans 4 times each frame, even if the multi sample value is set to 1.
I have a plustek 120 and no mechanical issues with Silverscan.
Do you have any advice?
here you are a screenshot, showing that the multisample value is 1 and the scanner is on its fourth passage...

How is the speed of scanning the 4 times compared to one pass on Silverscan?
My guess it is scanning 4 times as it is scanning the negative with red LED, then blue LED, then green then IR.
Try changing Make Grey From to a select color and see if it only scans once then? It could be that Vuescan makes four passes while Silverscan flashed each color then moved.
If that isn't it email Vuescan support. They have always responded quickly when I emailed them.

Hamrick answered to me very quickly!
he said to set everything to default and then modify each parameter to find what causes the issue: unfortunately the problem comes out with default options too, scanning five (!) times each frame!!
I think it's a bug between my scanner and the software.
I will stick with Silverscan

Let him know, there might be a bug. But if so that can be fixed. Vuescan is updated pretty frequently.

But you can call me Steve
I gave up on Vuescan a while ago, I use Silverfast, a lot less confusion.
