Little RF for a big guy..

If you aren't concerned about exposure flexibility, the Olympus 35 DC is virtually identical to the RD, with full-auto exposure, instead of shutter-priority. The quick exposure lock makes this pretty useable, in practice. This is the rangefinder that I have in my avatar, to the left. It has an f/1.7 lens and will meter up to ASA-800 film. I had mine CLA'd and altered to take a S76 battery, and have been pretty pleased with it, so far. Nice size to carry around, even with a hood attached.

The Yashica GSN is also a good (if large) aperture-priority camera. I compared mine to my Nikon FE2 with a 45mm GN pancake lens, and I believe the GSN is slightly larger. The GX is a smaller version, but less common and more expensive.

If you're unsure how you'd get along with a rangefinder, it's hard to go wrong with a GSN... I paid a total of about $15 for mine, including shipping.
