All it says is that there will be a live-cast. And there will be solutions for both amateurs and professionals. Nothing regarding a new M, but no word that there won't be one either. This video tell's us absolutely nothing except that you'll be able to watch the event.

Why should they announce something before this merketing live-cast? They understand it to keep us curious.

Exactly: "on September 9, 2009, Leica will present a range of ground-breaking new products designed for all photographers, amateurs and professionals alike. Attend the presentation on September 9 online and be a witness to the unveiling of the next generation of Leica cameras."
Interesting, but nothing about what these will be like. The video only shows M8s, S2s and a couple of lenses.

Seeing that Leica is the Apple of photography, in the words of the Apple Product Cycle (http://www.misterbg.org/AppleProductCycle/):
"As Macworld or the Worldwide Developer’s Conference draws near, the chatter builds to a fever pitch. Rumor sites jockey for position, posting a new unverifiable, contradictory rumor every hour or so. eBay is flooded with six-month-old, slightly used gadgets as college students, underemployed web designers and independent musicians struggle to clear credit card space."
"On the morning of Steve Jobs’s keynote presentation, the online Apple store grinds to a halt as Mac-heads set their browsers to refresh every 15 seconds."
"Steve Jobs spends the first half-hour of his keynote crowing about how many iPods shipped during the previous six months and how many “native applications” have been developed for OS X. Attempting to appear as though it’s just an afterthought, he finally introduces the new Apple product. The product has sleek, clean lines, a diminutive form factor, and less than half of the useful features that everyone was expecting."
Soon we'll be in the "I'll wait for Revision B" phase, followed by the discovery of a minor glitch in the new product that "begins to be discussed in the Apple support forums. Whiny, artistic types post lengthy diatribes about how this terrible design flaw has made the device unusable and scarred them emotionally. Electronic petitions are created demanding that Apple replace the devices for free, plus pay for counseling to help traumatized users overcome their emotional distress."

The video I saw showed them building and using the S2 and M8.2. No M9 in sight, though.

So what? They didn't even show the product for amateurs in that video? So I think nothing was in the video they will show on 09/09.

Well no matter what they will actually announce - if you wanted to announce something it wouldn't make sense to show it in the video beforehand

Why to make only one big announcement event if they can have two? After all - S2 and M9 are directed to different user groups (from professional point of view). Well, just a thought ..

Look at 54sec and 58sec...
That's no M8 or 8.2.

On sec. 54 you can see an iSO setting, and on 58 sec. there's a step over the viewfinder, this is not on the M8

Faster flash synchro? My M8.1 has 1/250 and 1/8000 fastest speed. What you see here ist just like the "slower" M8.2, isn't it?
