Last night I loaded my first roll of film in a Hasselblad A12 magazine. I have no clue if I did it correctly or not. Can someone explian how to load film? Direct me to an illustrated procedure? Offer to assist me in person at S.R.O. on FM 1960 after work?????????????? Give me a shout on my cell phone and talk me through it?
Thanks for your help.
"Nice camera. Is that a Hasselblad?"
"Yes!"

Wayne... there are plenty of copies of the manual on the web. Try google.
Here it is in a nutshell:
0. Check that darkslide is in place; Remove film insert from the A-12 back (turn silver key).
1. Move empty spool to takeup position.
2. Open new film, remove band and insert into supply side of insert. Insert so when the film is pulled off the spool the BLACK faces out.
3. Pull film out and insert end into take-up spool; place paper UNDER the silver strip on one side of the pressure plate. You might need to turn the silver key to do this.
4. Turn takeup spool using the silver knob on the end of the takeup spool until arrow on film paper aligns with red marks on insert. Then turn the silver key to lock the film in place.
5. Insert the insert into the back and turn silver key to lock.
6. Turn black turney-knob until film stops turning and counter says "1"
Then start shooting.

Thanks Gumby! I did all of that except the paper under the silver strip part. One of the instruction manuals that I found online looked like the paper went under the roller next to the take up spool. I'm pretty sure that I went over both rollers.

That is one of the two parts of Hassy film loading that just isn't very intuitive!

The first time I loaded a hassy magazine, I loaded the film backwards; that is paper side out. That lead to hilarious results when I rewound the film and opened up the magazine! All my film flew out, like a coiled spring. Don't make that mistake!
