Location of focus patch please

Can someone please tell me the location of the focus patch relative to the framing lines? Using the 50mm as an example, when focused to nearest? And when focused to infinity? Thanks in advance.

It is always smack dab in the center, regardless of focusing distance.

The post is in the R-D1 forum, so logic would say that...

Camera is Epson R-D1. The focus patch does not show up in the center. It is somewhat to the left of center, and changes it's vertical position (slightly diagonally) as the focus is changed. This is my first rangefinder camera since the '70.

I think you'll find that the focus patch stays in place, and the framelines move as the focus shifts closer (parallax correction).

The focus patch should be directly in the center *of the viewfinder* and the framelines are variable within that.

I have some catch up to do with rangefinders. Not comfortable using it yet.
