Missing your lady huh? You gotta dig deeper than Zeppelin, you gotta go back further, back to Robert Johnson, T.Bone Walker, Lightning Hopkins, Albert King, B.B. King, Albert Collins, and the late great Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Now, download Albert Collins' "I ain't drunk, I'm just drinkin" and cheer up man ;)

Lol. I wish I didn't have to go to the inlaws this weekend! I love that Albert Collins' song. A nice list, Todd. Although, I would definitely throw in some Little Walter (Sad Hours?). After that list, it's "Forget the glass. Gimme the bottle." :D

:D I'm listening to Stevie Ray now and highly recommend "da blues". Nothin' better when you're in the mood! Scanning pix from rangefinders and moaning guitars, that's livin'.

Red House is a great tune! I use to have a great Hendrix blues tape, mostly live stuff, awesome!

If you're in the mood for some modern blues, try Robert Cray. Best live show I ever attended... and with a date who enjoyed the blues as much as I do :) Ah, memories...

My ex wife would get pissed when I listened to Robert Cray. Said he was sexist and irresponsible for "smoking gun."

I think the blues escaped her understanding. Didn't dig Howlin Wolf either. Shame.

New wife- she is just fine with it. Gets the context. And, loves Etta James.

Back on track... Robert Cray has this stinging sweet tone to his playing and a voice like honey and brass.

Have any of you guys named your cameras like B.B. has with Lucille? Have we gone over the edge? I've only thought about it, really!

Yes, dug out Hendrix, too :)

And found Hawkwind life in Brixton next to it, now listening to Silver Mashine and cursing the bad weather otherwise I'd fire up the Moto Morini 500s and listen to the sound off open carbs and nearly open exaust pipes!

On another thought, how do you get an oldtimer cheap? Buy a motorcycle new and keep it for some decades!

Glad to see that some here appreciate real music. {ducking and running} :)

Counting Crows fan, huh? I'm sure you're about the only one here who knows where I actually live then. :) :) :)

Socke,

Morini 500? I remember that. Old school cafe racer. Push rod, V-Twin , right? Very cool.

Hawkwind, Amon Duul II, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk were some bands too

Mine is from 1982 and overdue for a restoration.
Nobody knows why the gear box doesn't work anymore although everything is within specs, so we put a 3 1/2 six speed gerabox in.
Since last year it is on the 4th overbore and I have to hunt for cylinders in better shape or a new engine.
The Del'Orto carbs are worn and I have a pair of Mikunis on it, the rubber pipes between the carbs and the cylinder heads are far from good and so on.

At the moment I'm thinking about one of the last New York or Coguaro 501 "Chopper" as a donor, thats probably cheaper than rebuilding the original parts and I care more about driving it, not about originality :)
