I use a LTM Canon 135/3.5 and a Leitz 135/2.8 Elmarit with eyes. They both work great!

Plenty users have done so. It is a very good lens and well suited to the M8. The trick to get decent framelines is to overrotate the lens to its stop. That will bring up the 90 mm lines. If you stay well within they are perfectly usable.

Neat trick Jaap. Thanks for the tip!
I can vouch for the Tele Elmar. It's a very good lens.

Sometimes I use a 30$ Jupiter-11. It's a great lens, but it's very difficult to focus precisely.

Bright line 90mm finder. These in any focal length are better than any M camera frame line. I have a full set of original Leica + a CV 75. I will never part with them.
Or an imarect which is continuously variable, so you can make it perfect. Problem is the optics are uncoated and the image looks dull. But it very accurate with masking blades. Say you like a 40 mm lens, you can mark off where to set it for to match that lens.

I have never used a 135 on a M body but do VF magnifiers not do the trick?

If you have a good focussing technique and some experience, the camera is fine without magnifier.

+1. In fact, in my experience what it (1.25X Leica-brand in my case) adds in magnification, it takes away in brightness and lower contrast, so it's somewhat of a wash.
