i knew there was something 'not right' about you...![]()
Yep, I'm a bit off kilter... but anyone who uses rangefinders probably is... bought a black label silk strap yesterday (like A&A's silk) and I would not advise it for the X100... it's too robust. Great for the M9 and heavier though.

i'm thinking that the little x100 needs a cloth strap...
anyone know who might make a very long, thin cloth strap?

complete shift...going with a zhou wrist strap, for now.
the camera is too small & light for what straps i have on hand...
will likely continue to keep it the x5a case with some extras...
i report this as i know my x100 movements are being closely monitored
(at least by frank s who is hoping it goes up for sale soon)

Joe,
I use Zhou's black leather neck strap on my X100. Its the nicest strap I've ever owned. Its really soft, has a great neck pad, and is just the right length for hanging a RF around your neck or over one shoulder. When hung over your shoulder, the neck pad easily keeps the strap from slipping off. And the strap is so soft, you can roll it around your wrist when you want the 'wrist strap' arrangement. They cost a little over $50 U.S..

Quite an expensive strap

It's the Artisan & Artist cloth strap for me. Loving the comfort and ease of on-the-fly adjustment in length - can go quite long too.
As seen here....I went for the stealthier black version myself though

I had an extra Domke Gripper strap hanging around and decided to try it. I didn't really like the looks of it and this camera just WANTS to be in my hands at all time. I had an old braided leather wrist strap that screws into the tripod socket that I got with an old 8mm film camera and I've been using it instead. When I want to put the camera down it goes in my Domke F5xB.

I would go for bailing wire.

This is that old wrist strap I was talking about. It's really solid and the strap freely turns from the mount. It was on a really old 8mm film camera and made to last.

Long strap?
Long strap?
I use a length of 5/8" polyester grograin black ribbon as a sling, with a suitable split ring and a Leica Goodies hook connected to the camera. This rig is lightweight and inexpensive, the camera hangs easily at my side, and slides quickly into position.
