I got this email this morning from Henry Scherer:

Dear Frank,
>Both of your IIa camera bodies are in reliablility testing, which I am
>certain they will pass. They will be ready to ship to you on Friday.
>Both have extremely fine and highly accurate shutters in them. All the
>opticals are clear and clean and the rangefinders are accurate and
>aligned properly. They are both very fine cameras.

Congrats Frank! That gave me a warm feeling all over.😀 I have coveted the Contax IIa for some time now ("Both" ?!?😱), but it'll be a while before I get one.

I bet that was a good email to get Frank! My first real rf was a Kiev 4, and I've wanted a Contax IIa ever since... Nearly picked up a dicey one 'found in grandpa's cupboard' for $150 early this year, but was outbid at the last minute... One of these days I'm going to put togther the $$ as I have a good set of fsu lenses... Enjoy!

Congrats, Frank!

I remember the first time I got cameras back from Henry S. I could not believe how smoothly the sticky shutter and grinding wind knob operated. Also, cleaning years of accumulated gunk off the lenses worked wonders. Enjoy your "new" Contaxes
