i've gotten into photography for good early 2008, until then i liked taking photos but my sony cybershot was enough for candid snaps. then i went to london+madrid for a masters in management programme, but i ended up learning more about photography (by reading and exploring) than management! nowadays I can't see myself not seeing the world as a moment collector.

I have a Nikon F that I bought in 1968 but it hasn't seen any use for years. I bought a used black Nikon F in 1985 and just had the techs at Cameraquest do a CLA on it and I am using it now for some things. Maybe I should send my original F for a CLA or overhaul and start using it. Jim

Yep, all the gotta-have-it-now Nikon digital SLRs for the last 12 years have been used and sold. Nothing left but a few Nikon film SLR's and a couple of Leicas. Poor me....😛 And to think I lost all of the money on the digi cams that depreciated faster than our car.

I miss my Nikon F. I think it was a 1960 or '61. Black paint. Picked it up a few years ago for next to nothing and used it all the time. Eventually it gave out and I have been unable to find a reliable repair shop that has the spare parts to fix it. Truly a shame. I really loved shooting with that camera.

In second place is a 1963 Leica M2. I've had this camera for almost 11 years and it also sees constant use.

Although the M2 is the oldest M I own, it has been the most reliable of the bunch. In all the time I've owned it, it's never given me the slightest problem and I've had it with me everywhere.

The brass strap lugs were almost worn through, so a few weeks ago I sent it to Kindermann and had them replaced. Gerry gave it a full CLA and replaced a shutter curtain that was looking like it was on its last leg. As a precaution I had him replace both. Next I replaced the covering, since the vulcanite was totally shot and just disintegrating.

The old girl is looking pretty good these days and I expect us to have many more adventures together.

A button-rewind M2, bought in 1965. Still with intact "L" seal, functions OK.

Bought from Wallace Heaton second hand department in 1965 for £35/10/00...Leica III and Elmar...recently serviced and still in use.

Shoot Voigtlander 15/5.6 on the Leica and Nikkor -S 55/1.2 on the Nikkormat fairly often.

I recently gave away an Olympus XA I had since new around 1980.
My first adjustable lens camera was a Ricoh 500G in around 1975.
I foolishly traded that one away when the SLR bug first bit me,
but I have since replaced it with another.

hasselblad 500c, from about 1968 till 2006. the swc was in use for a shorter time - from 1985 to 2006. service during that time? CLA on the 50mm and 38 by hasselblad germany, and light seals on one magazine. that's hard to beat!

From 1975 an Alpa Model 7, still have the receipt but always remember for some reason the Dallmeyer 135mm Dalrac that came in the bundle was £17.
That Switar is still a great 50mm lens. The 7 counts here as of course it has a rangefinder as well as the SLR. Sold the Tubset, extension tubes a couple of years back for more than the whole lot cost new. (well secondhand really but it felt like new to me)
Still used as part of the "rotation" the Switar shone with Kodachrome but of course no longer.
