I am a big fan of f-stop printing; made my decision making much more rational. I use an f-stop table that I designed in MS Excel. Less elegant that the RH Designs, but waay cheaper!

Fair call! Since I got my Durst Lab 1200 for only $50, I decided I could splurge on the timer. Not essential for the technique, but it does make it a lot easier. I also did the spreadsheet thing for a while. With this approach I now feel I have a lot more control over the test strip process, which I need to do since I don't have 30 years experience eyeballing negs to judge print exposure!

Now I'm waiting on more paper and a six-element lens to enlarge my 6x6 negs - ah sweet anticipation! :D

Summilux preAsph 50mm from KEH, bargain grade for 750 bucks, chrome. the glass and body are almost perfect, except for a very slight wobble in the rear ring with the focus distance scale, IF you really feel for it.
The focus marker is a hair off at infinity. I suppose an adjustment to the rear ring would run 50-100 bucks, so for 750 THIS IS A FREAKIN BARGAIN ............. those interested can find one more like this at KEH for the same price! cheers

I don't see any 50 luxes on the site now, or am I missing something? Thanks.

I got new toys :)
Today a perfectly mint Summicron Dual Range and perfect Eys to match arrived.
It is a lens I have long wanted to try. Luckily it does mount without any interference on the M6 I have.

Also a rare lens. The Only Sonnar formula reflex normal ever produced. Preset Takumar f2/58mm. I will mostly use this on my 5DII although it did come with the beautiful Asahi it is mounted on. Very few of these. I just got lucky on ebay last week.

Argh! Warsteiner! Lucky me, I will spend a weekend in Hamburg in a few days to cool down my Warsteiner durst (I worked almost one year there and since I came back to France, I do miss German Beer).

Warsteiner's good, but nothing is better than a Pilsner Urquell to me! Have a nice week end.

The Leica came in on Monday from Rick in Germany. It is still expecting a J-3 from Mukul in India.
The E-P1 came Tuesday from Amazon.

But Warsteiner has one of the better catch phrases: "Wo es felt, felt was!"
