On a completely different note: a Moskva-5 from a fellow RFF'er. Nice camera, was out shooting with it today with a roll of Ilford PanF+ 50. Very happy.
This came in the mail just like this and is a little ball about 8cm in dia. or just over 3inches.
Needless to say, it had a lens in it and, I'm glad to say, it doesn't appear to be damaged. And that says a lot for old, second-hand 'Jiffy' bags and 2 ft of sticky tape.
A Super Rokkor Chiyoko 45mm f2.8. It's an earlier version with 5 digit serial number and a small window on the front of the lens provides a secondary display of the chosen f-stop.
It's very compact and balances better than my Topcor-S 2/50. It's size really appeals. Only had time to take a few test shots on my XE2. Sharp centrally from wide open. Edges soft but not distracting. Wonderful swirling bokeh. I'm impressed by its performance on the Fuji but fully expect that it'll look at its best on film.
I feel very lucky to have snatched this M9 in Exc+ condition from KEH at a very good price, especially since I just looked and it only had a 1,000 shutter count. Hopefully I won't be affected by the corrosion issue!
