I suspect ypu are overreacting. Mopst of the folks using state-of-the-art gear probably don't know anything about older equipment and don't care.

If he was 40 something then he probably knew about the "Old School" equipment. I have only been snobbed at a local camera club. Everyone shoots digital now with the exception of one other person and he is SLR Nikon user. They think that I am "Old School" and should try to get into the present with my shooting equipment. Comments like, "been there done that, moved on" are thrown out. People use what they want and like. I would love to meet another shooter using a RF. Talking cameras for hours, WOOHOO!
