Hi everyone.

Recently my D700 got stolen here in Ecuador. I'm looking to buy an D600 or D800. It's impossible to come by over here in Ecuador, so I have to go to somewhere else. The United States is an option, but for half the money I can travel to Panama, and chances are things are cheaper there because they have another tax system.

My question is as follows. Are there people here that live in Panama, or have been there recently?

Im looking to buy an D600-800 with grip and the new 70-200 F/4. Would that be possible over there? Offcourse I'm not intrested in second hand or black market stuff.

thanks

Years ago I lived there and bought all kinds of camera equipment. I hope someone gives you an answer, but many of the Avenida Central stores don't seem to be on the Web. Panama' is a very capitalistic (thank goodness there are still a few countries like that) place so you will be able to get a good deal. Be the first in the store in the morning as they like to make a good deal with the first customer.

They don't answer to my mail, nor won't they talk business over the phone. I just need someone who lives there that can tell me if they sell the D600+grip and 70-200 over there.

thx for helping though!

Like I say it has been a long time since I've lived there, but Panama' does not have a controlled economy. Therefore, the selves are filled. It is much like Hong Kong, Switzerland (maybe), or Singapore.
