London, for now...
I'm in the process of rationalising my outfit and am trying to assemble a very compact three lens kit. I'm currently carrying 50 and 90 Elmars but I'm starting to feel the need for a true wide angle to go with them. Will the CV 25 f4 or 28 f3.5 "look" right in an outfit with these lenses? I've a feeling the contrast may be a little high compared to the Elmars and the results wouldn't hang together tonally. I'd be glad to hear the thoughts of anyone using any of these combinations.

PS: My Elmar is an early f2.8, not the current model.

Mark: I recommend the Canon 35mm/2.8 and/or the Canon 28mm/3.5. Either of the lenses would be a good classical complement to what you already own and use. It is a personal choice, so the two Canon lenses represent my personal suggestion. The CV lenses have good glass, but so do the canon lenses with their high resolution and lower contrast. Another plus is the physical look of the Canon lenses. Classic.

There's a wonderful 28mm Summaron (rather slow, f/5.6 I think), but it is in high demand by collectors, so the price is usually way high. Tom A. says he has one, and apparently it deserves its fine reputation. I've been looking for one for the past several years but haven't found any which I can afford.

I carry my IIIC with the 1937 Elmar, 1936 28 Hektor and 90 elmar. Nice classic look particularly on vintage types of film and developers. The Hektor is f6.3 and extremely small. I purchased it many years ago and wouldn't part with it now. The downside of these vintage Hektors is the price. I think they're onve $800 now if you can find one.
