I know there have been a million bag threads, but I am looking for a very particular bag style of bag for my M9 and 2-3 lens maximum and wondering if anyone has seen one. I'm looking for a small-mid size messenger style bag (i.e. longer than it is tall), preferably made of nylon, and with a top zipper (not a flap). The zipper is very important because I find that flaps really slow down the removal of a camera in the field.

I know about the A&A 1100 and 3000 but those are canvas and seem quite overpriced to me. The Billingham Stowa Polo is nice but also canvas and not messenger style.

Thanks!

Take a look at the Domke F-5B or C. I used a baby bag (insulated) in black nylon and it worked well for my Ms and a couple of lenses. I was really underwhelmed by some of the new Tenba bags I saw at the store the other day.

Crazy thought, what about having one made? While I have never tried it at a lot of dry cleaners is a taylor. At mine I always see her busy, but at others not so much. Perhaps you could have a custom bag made? Another option might be someone who sews boat covers.

Hope this helps. I have not seen a Domke F-5 in person but my old Domke is wonderful.

the domke 5xb has both a zipper and a flap.
i usually pull the flap over and tuck it between itself and my body.
it would fit a body and 2-3 lenses easily.

Have a look at the Think Tank 'Change Up', a small bag that can be both a waist pack or a shoulder bag. I use it as a shoulder bag most of the time and it fits an M9 with lens attached and two other lenses easily, or four lenses if stacked with dividers. Design and construction are second to none, and it doesn't scream 'camera bag'. Putting the belt around your waist makes it very secure for running, jumping, or in crowds and bustling situations. Of a similar style but a dedicated shoulder bag is the Urban Disguise 20 that should carry a similar amount. They have plenty of zippered pockets and stowing pouches, and the main compartments are zippered and without a flap.

Have a look on the Think Tank web site

Check out Coach 's Mens Map Bags. I have two of them .Leather and Nylon. But recently I have been using their Bleecker Nylon Mens Large satchel. It expands very welll and filled and stays small and compact if it is not full. I ike that bag very much...coach.com

Try either the Domke F5xb or the Eastpak Manhattan, both have zippers though the manhattan may be bigger than you want. I own both myself and while they're both good bags i'm not a zipper lover and more often than not reach for my BBB.

Thx

Thx very much. I decided to buy a courierware bag which is a super deal and made in Vermont. Just about perfect.

I thought you said zippers were very important, and that you don't like flaps. Don't these have flaps only? (I much prefer flaps...easy access, better weather protection, less chance for breakage, etc.)

just bought a A&A* ACAM 1000, it should be fit my system really well.
(M9w/35cron + M4-2w/cv35/1.4 + EP1w/20 i should be able to carry 21SAw/VF, CV50/1.1 and a HEXANON 90.) Will post picture when i got it.

I just purchased the "Osprey Veer shoulder bag" which might fit your needs.

It is a smaller messenger style nylon bag with zippers and has good number of small compartments too. I have only really field tested it once so far, so I am not sure how I will like it in the long run.

I put two lenses in a pouch and the camera With lens I plan to wrap it in a domke wrap (ordered it today). Right now I just dropped it in there without a wrap for my first outing.
