Looking for a beater 28mm Elmarit. Where?

Hey, so I'm looking for a beater grade 28mm Elmarit, VIII and onward I should imagine, though I can't seem find one and I have been looking!

Normally I'd just check the 'local' stores for stuff, but I'm having real trouble finding a really well used Elmarit. You know virtually no paint or markings left, maybe a ding or two, cleaning marks are ok. Most of the ones available look as though they have been held a couple of times.

Any idea as to where to look? Thanks for any help offered.



P.S, Please don't advise me to buy an Ultron. It's not what I'm after.

Perhaps you can get a mint one and rough it up yourself. Presumably you are just looking for a good price. How much are you willing to spend?

Buy a new one. Send it to me. I will beat it up and then send it to you at no charge. Actually, I bought mine when Leica was still running a nice rebate program, so a new one netted about $1400.

So, I won't tell you to get an Ultron.

I'll tell you to get Krosya's M-Hexanon 28mm f2.8 from the Classifieds. It's proven as good as an Elmarit pre-ASPH and doesn't cost as much. You'd have a h*ll of a time getting it worn off though, it's very durable.

PS: I was at Aperture London yesterday, they also have one on sale its GBP 450 there, still a decent price.
